Today's Shariatpur has been formed in the course of time with a part of the greater Faridpur district. Built on the silt of the Padma, surrounded by the Maya of the Meghna, this district is wrapped in motherhood with green fields, a water-forest poetry has developed. Named after Haji Shariatullah, the district is an integral part of the unprecedented development of Bangladesh today as it has been a part of mega projects like Padma Multipurpose Bridge Project, Padma Bridge Rail Link Project etc.

 

 

Bangladesh has taken itself to unique heights in achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). That is why Bangladesh today is indomitable in enterprise, a wonder of the world in development and progress. In line with Vision-2021, it is a middle-income country by 2021, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030, poverty alleviation, building a hunger-free society, creating safe, decent employment for all, inclusive and equitable quality education, Bangladesh is fully prepared to build a dignified, responsible and developed state in the world by establishing gender equality through economic and political empowerment of women, providing safe drinking water for all, ensuring affordable and healthy energy, protecting the environment and ecosystem through sustainable use of land, water and environment.

 

At the same time, in order to establish a hunger-poverty-free, developed, self-reliant Bangladesh in 2041, Vision-2041 and 2100 with special emphasis on water resources, land, agriculture, public health, environment, environment, food security, sustainable and non-discriminatory economic growth and geopolitics. The bird's eye has been able to do the island plan-2100 (Delta Plan) etc.

 

        On the way to achieving all these at the national level, the endless gift of silver hilsa, the unbridled joy of diverse forests, the diverse combination of water and forest, the vast desert of soft soil, the energetic human resources of warm heart and the successful connection of Padma bridge have soaked the potential of Padma-Meghna. Shariatpur district can make an outstanding contribution to the national progress by providing opportunities for free cultivation of fruits and crops, proximity to the capital, creation of employment through establishment of industrial zone at the western end of the bridge, development of tourism related industries in the area adjacent to the bridge.

The district administration is an important administrative unit of the field administration as a bridge between the people and the central government in implementing the policies and programs adopted by the government to achieve the stated goals, objectives and objectives. As the deputy commissioner worked intensively as the chief coordinator of the activities of all government and non-government organizations in the district, the work of all the departments of the district level government was conducted around the district administration. Moreover, the district administration plays an important role in the smooth functioning of land management, executive magistracy, law and order situation, treasury, local government, education, public examinations, health services, national and local elections, etc. People can get the facilities provided by this office electronically through Union Digital Center at low cost. In addition, people can apply and receive services online through the district e-service center for services as per demand. As a result, the need for a direct presence in the office of the Deputy Commissioner is gradually decreasing.

 

The world today is plagued by a deadly pandemic called covid-19 which has severely disrupted the normal life of people all over the world. But invincible people have started to turn around again with indomitable zeal. New Normal Life has started by ensuring social distance, wearing masks, using disinfectants, maintaining hygiene, adopting tactics to avoid touch, virtual meetings, chats, gatherings, etc. I believe in the implementation of the Government of Bangladesh's Vision-2021, Sustainable Development Goals-2030, Vision-2041, Delta Plan-2100 and the construction of a happy, prosperous, developed, self-respecting Sonar Bangla in this unusual time of New Normal Life.
